Sun puts 16 cores on its 'Rock' chip

Sun Microsystems, already an aggressive advocate of multicore processing, will try to stay a step ahead of the game by putting 16 cores in its high-end Rock chip. We're still waiting urgently for their Niagara 2 chip, or for multi-socket versions of the Niagara 1. However, the chip still looks very promising.
